Dakak Park & Beach Resort

Last October 2008, my boyfriend's relatives were able to buy tickets from Cebu Pacific's seat sale. They originally wanted to book for Boracay, but alas! seats were sold out quickly. So they booked Manila-Dipolog-Manila instead for only about Php1,000 each! :D

They got a good deal on the accommodations as well from TravelSmart.NET! Check this out:

Yay! We are to spend Valentine's Day in Dakak :D

We're about 20 pax. I think we filled almost half of the plane hehe

Just arrived in Dipolog

We were greeted by the resort's staff. They even gave us welcome leis. We waited for our bags then we were ushered to the van. It takes about an hour from the airport to get to the resort. Yes it's quite far. Nearly impossible to get there without a service as it is uphill.

Upon arrival, we were served with welcome drinks. We then went to our respective villas. The villas were about a 5-minute walk from the lobby. It sits amongst a sort of coconut plantation-like setting. The villas are very Filipiniana.

The lobby

The room has two beds and a sofa which can also serve as an extra bed, so the 6 of us comfortably fit in the villa.

Other villas as viewed from our balcony

Since it's Valentine's Day and there were a lot of guests, they had a dinner buffet complete with a Hawaiian number!

The succeeding days were spent just lounging at the beach, eating, and sleeping haha. His other relatives decided to check out on the third day and stay in Dipolog City. We extended for another night.

Kids enjoying the beach
We had the beach to ourselves
They also have two or three pools

And boy they have a number of hammocks around (which easily became my favorite hang out)!

My view from under the tree

The only downside in staying at the resort is you're restricted with the restaurant's food - not that the food was bad - but because the resort's so far from the main road that you have no choice but to eat there. The activities were limited as well. They had a bowling lane with a pool table and videoke, but is already pretty old. I wish they can renovate it. I heard there's also a church and golf course inside the resort but we weren't able to go there so I can't comment on those.

We had a relaxing stay nevertheless. :)

  3. I heard they also have themed parks there in Dakak. I actually find it cheaper, having vacations there, since it has all in one place and rentals are really affordable for a convenient stay. One day I will go there and bring my family from Panama City, Beach resort.
