Nanbantei of Tokyo

Went to Greenbelt yesterday to watch Inception, but before that we had lunch at Nanbantei of Tokyo.

Now as much as possible, we try to pick a restaurant that we haven't been to before each time we go out. I usually use Munch Punch to help me pick out restaurants by filtering it either by location, by mall or by cuisine, then I'd look up for reviews. Apparently lots of people were raving about this yakitori restaurant in Greenbelt called Nanbantei of Tokyo.

This is the facade of the resto. Nothing fancy really. I'm guessing most people probably just pass by and not notice that this resto even exists. *glee*

Inside, we were seated close to the 'grilling counter'(?) We were served with complimentary fresh vegetable sticks. I didn't try it, natch. Well, I did...just a teeny tiny bite of the carrot stick.

BF wanted to order the Tori Special Platter but I wanted the Best Sellers Platter because I think the former is just a 'sosyal' version of street food because it consists of chicken liver (leba), chicken heart (hatsu), chicken tail?!? etc. Of course I won *evil grin*

The Best Sellers Platter

21 sticks (3 of each): Aspara Maki, Tebasaki, Pork Garlic Yaki, Shiso Maki, Negima, Corn & Poteto (yes, it's really spelled that way) Maki.

This one arrived first (clockwise) Aspara Maki, Corn, & Poteto Maki.

Loved the Aspara Maki :D
I do not recommend eating this right away since it can easily make you feel full because of the carbs.
Tebasaki (Chicken Wings)
Shiso Maki (Pork with Shiso Leaf)
Pork Garlic Yaki
I loved this one too!
Negima (Chicken with Long Onion)
BF ordered some fried rice

Although the Best Sellers Platter pricing differs from site-to-site (they're probably outdated), it's actually Php800.00 as of this writing. Not bad since it's good for 3-4 persons, and no, we did not eat everything in one sitting. It also served as our dinner after watching the movie. *teehee*

It's definitely worth coming back to.
