Review: Swiss-Belhotel Rainforest Kuta

Swiss-Belhotel Rainforest is located along Bali's Sunset Road. It has a very unassuming facade, and looks small from the outside. But I was pleasantly surprised when I entered the lobby as it has a very tropical vibe - a very stark contrast to its commercial-looking exteriors. They didn't name it 'Rainforest' for nothing.

Love that palm leaf-like ceiling fan!
This is how the lobby looks from Oak Restaurant

I arrived a couple of hours earlier than the official check-in time, but was checked in right away since the room was available.

The bellhop immediately took care of my luggage, however, it was brought to my room a few minutes late because they only have one small elevator in this 5-floor hotel (it smells really, really nice, by the way).

See, the rainforest theme is even carried to the room. It's as if I wasn't staying in the city.

My room was just the right size.

It has a fluffy bed with 4 big pillows. These are some of the best pillows I've had among all my hotel stays. I slept soundly in the 2 nights I was there.

There's a 32" inch LCD TV, FREE WiFi, writing desk, coffee and tea-making facility, electronic safe, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, bathrobes and slippers.

My room also has a small balcony, but doesn't really have a view as it was facing the garden near the parking lot.

The bathroom has nice fittings with complete and good toiletries.

My only concern was because the tub also doubles as the shower, and the tub's height was a bit too high for me, it's quite an effort to get in and out, and could be a hazard for kids or the elderly. They tried to compensate, though, by using non-slip flooring.

Breakfast is served at Oak Restaurant
I love dining at Oak Restaurant because of its ambiance. It faces the 'rainforest' and koi pond, so it's very relaxing. I really enjoyed dining here.
Oak's Nasi Goreng Java - Indonesian fried rice served with fried chicken, fried egg, mixed satay with peanut sauce, shrimp crackers & pickles
My little plate of happiness :)

Oak also serves really good buffet breakfast and ala-carte Indonesian fare. My favorites are the Nasi Goreng Java, and the pastries and cakes. Their cheese pies are to die for!

Other facilities include a lap pool at the second floor, massage and spa, fitness center, and meeting and conference rooms.

If you want to stay in the Kuta area, but away from the rowdy crowd, Swiss-Belhotel Rainforest is a good option.

~~ I was hosted by Swiss-Belhotel Rainforest for 2 nights, but all opinions in this review are my own. ~~
