Anybody who loves to travel has felt that itch.
You’ve been home for about a week or less since your last vacation, exploration, adventure or whatever you want to call it, and you’re already craving the next big adventure. Still, with only a limited amount of money and so few ideas as to places you could visit that you haven’t seen before, you might be running a little dry on ideas for adventurous trips, whether it’s a solo excursion or one to do with family and friends.
Nonetheless, all hope is not lost. The best way to have an adventure unlike your previous ones is to simply think outside the box. Maybe you could return to a country you’ve visited before but do things differently this time. Perhaps you took all the classic tourist or traveling routes the first time around, and perhaps you’d enjoy the adventure far more if you took your own path the second time.
Here are some adventurous tips for trips with a twist.
Head off the beaten track in Italy
Italy is a beautiful country. Whether you visit the beautiful sinking city of Venice before it vanishes off the face of the earth, or admire the Leaning Tower of Pisa and other famous landmarks Italy has on offer, this country is truly one-of-a-kind. Still, even if you’ve never been to Italy before, you’ll likely absorb the joys of the tourist attractions and landmarks rather quickly.
For the adventurous individual, all of the general tourist attractions and beaches become boring rather quickly too. Perhaps you’d rather venture off the beaten track and take a helicopter tour up to Mount Etna, the most active volcano in Europe, as an example. You could even explore the catacombs if you fancy a nail-biting and humbling experience. There’s so much more to Italy than the postcards show.
Travel across Australia
Maybe you’ve been to Australia before, or maybe you haven’t. Either way, you’ve barely scratched the surface, and that’s because it’s almost impossible to absorb everything this huge country has to offer. Whether you’d rather explore the exciting culture of cities such as Sydney or the natural beauty and raw wilderness of the outback, this is certainly a country which springs into the minds of most people when one says “explorer” or “adventurer”.
You could even look into camping trailers if you want to take a mini home for you, your friends, and possibly your family on your adventure. The best way to experience Australia is to travel across as much of it as you can handle, as there is no “one spot” which summarizes the country as a whole. It’s a diverse and exciting place.
Take in the natural wonder of Latvia
350 miles of coastline doesn’t sound bad to me, but there’s far more to Latvia than glorious beaches when it comes to scenic bliss.
The Kemeri National Park is an incredibly popular location for travelers from all over the world as its dense forests are not only beautiful in their own right, but the perfect location to spot exciting breeds of bird.
