Planning a Honeymoon in Bali? What You Need To Know

Based in Indonesia, the island of Bali has been growing in popularity as a honeymoon destination for loved up couples, just like you and your partner. Yet despite this growth, it still caters for each couple on an individual basis providing beautiful food, scenery and accommodation as well as first rate service. Many people describe the island as "dreamy" and "mesmerising" due to the spiritual influences and stunning natural beauty, and others hold it in high esteem because of the lazy days and party nights.

Bali can give you exactly what you want as long as you know where to go and what to do. It's certainly helpful to learn a little bit more about the island before you travel though as it can bring you the clarity you need in order to relax and enjoy yourself without worrying about the minor details. And when you are on your honeymoon, you certainly don't want to be stressing out!

Getting to Bali

From the UK, flights to Bali will include a stopover in Singapore, Malaysia, Qatar or Thailand - you may be able to pick which of these places you go through if you pay a supplement to your airline. Regardless of which route you choose, your flight will be about 15 and a half hours, so make sure you have plenty to read and watch whilst you are on board.

When to visit

Bali is blessed with year-round high temperatures but you will probably want to avoid the rainy season for your honeymoon visit. That's why the best time to stay is during the dry season, with June to September being the most attractive months. You can expect average daily temperatures of 30 degrees Celsius to 32 degrees Celsius.

What makes the island great for honeymooners?

When you have just got married, you'll probably be looking for your own slice of paradise, which is what Bali offers to visitors. Have a look online to see the range of Bali luxury hotels and you won't be disappointed with the selection of five star establishments available. You'll find many guides about all of the resorts on offer, but Seminyak is a solid choice for honeymooners as it features amazing hotels, boutique shops, delicious dining options, as well as breathtaking beach. There is also the bonus of having spa facilities on hand, which would be a shame to miss out on as a honeymooning couple.

Things to do during your stay

You can do as little or as much as you want when you are visiting Bali. The beaches will be calling for you to sit and relax, but there are also plenty of attractions worth getting out of bed for. That means you can have one day on and one day off if you so desire; but nobody will tell you off if you would rather stay in bed watching the waves of the Indian Ocean. If you want something to write about on your postcards, you could visit Bali Bird Park to see rare and exotic species or check out one of the many temples dotting around the island.
